Seventeen Kerrang! 105.2 listeners took part in an outdoor competition in Birmingham's Centenary Square to try and win £5000.
The contestants had to spend three hours in sub-zero temperatures to persuade the public to vote them the sexiest. It all took place between 7am and 10am during the station’s breakfast show – The Morning After with Simon James and Hill.
Danielle Perry from the show said “It was absolutely freezing out there but some of the male contestants took drastic measures to win votes by stripping down to their bare chests."
The station received several thousand text votes from the passing public and listeners who had checked out the entrant’s pictures on the Kerrang! Radio website. Each contestant held a placard with their voting number on, with some persuading entire bus loads of people to vote for them.
The winner that received the most votes was Danni Morris from Erdington. The 25 year old Graphic Designer had turned up dressed as a revealing pirate.
Simon James from the Breakfast Show said “Danni was relentless and apparently didn’t stop jumping around and haranguing people to get the votes, us lads were warm in the studio but all the contestants outdoors were in good spirits.”
The competition took place to coincide with the release of the new film ‘Sex Drive’.
