Ofcom is inviting declarations of intent to apply for the FM local commercial radio licence for South East Staffordshire. It’s currently held by Centre Broadcasting Ltd, broadcasting as CN-owned Touch Radio, and is due to expire next year.
The media regulator is also proposing to grant a further licence for the area that will run from May 2010 until the end of 2015. In related news, Ofcom’s received a solitary declaration of intent for the Macclesfield local commercial radio licence from the current licensee, Silk FM Ltd. Consequently, the station has been invited to re-apply for the licence under Ofcom’s 'fast-track' procedure.
Ofcom’s also re-awarded the local FM commercial radio licence for the Havering area to the current licensee, Time 107.5 Ltd. It’s a similar story for the local FM commercial radio licence for the Western Isles which has also been re-awarded, this time to the current licensee, Isles FM Ltd.
