Ofcom’s three new licensees

Media regulator Ofcom has awarded three new community radio licences for the Bedfordshire area. Biggles FM (Biggleswade, Sandy and Potton), Radio LaB (Luton) and Inspire FM (Luton), were the lucky recipients.

Biggles FM will be a local music and information based station, also aiming to provide opportunities for musicians to perform on air. Radio LaB is a station for young people in Luton in education and beyond. Inspire FM will be rooted in the local Muslim community providing Luton-focused educational and entertainment programming.
Licences are awarded for a five-year period. A fourth applicant, Radio Salaam in Luton, was declined a licence.
