David Lloyd heads up consortium

Phil Riley has appointed David Lloyd group programming and marketing director for Riley’s new radio group, LDC Midlands. The pair last worked together at Chrysalis Radio.

Lloyd had only recently taken on the role as head of regional and local programmes in Hull for the BBC last month. He’ll now help Riley build up the eight former Global Radio stations that he and a consortium bought last week.
The eight include BRMB, Mercia, Wyvern and Beacon in the West Midlands and Heart 106 in the East Midlands, which it will continue to run as part of the Heart network under licence from Global.
Lloyd was programming and marketing director of Virgin Radio up until last year and managing director of LBC before that.
