Fun Kids goes nationwide on DAB

The spare capacity on Digital One is slowly filling up again, thanks to the temporary addition of the Sony Digital Station of the year, Fun Kids, later this month.

The station, which is aimed at children aged under 10 and their mums and dads, will be available on the national DAB platform from June 27th to October 3rd.
The team plans to keep children, parents and the wider family entertained, informed and active over the summer months.
Gregory Watson, managing director of Fun Kids says: "We recognise that in 2009 more families than ever will be taking their holidays within the UK. Fun Kids has already established a loyal following amongst children under 10 and their mums and dads, playing child friendly pop hits, music from films and shows and well known classic kids tunes, as well as featuring many well known characters such as Thomas and Friends, Angelina Ballerina, Barney, and most recently, the news ants from 'What's Your News'".
Glyn Jones, Digital One’s acting chief executive, welcomed the launch saying: "With the launch of Fun Kids, Digital One has added three new services to the national line-up on digital radio since April.
"Agreeing a fourteen week contract also shows flexibility and a desire to make things happen both from Digital One and the broadcasting regulator, Ofcom".
Fun Kids will continue to be available across the UK on Sky Digital, Virgin Media and online.
