Jacko still king of pop

Michael Jackson's Man in the Mirror has reached number one in the UK’s Big Top 40 singles chart over 20 years after it was first released.

The single was revealed as No 1 on The Big Top 40, yesterday at 7pm (Sunday 28th June 2009). Though while topping the charts on commercial radio he only managed to peak at eleven in the BBC Radio 1 chart.
As well as Man in the Mirror, other Jackson hits that entered the chart this week include Smooth Criminal at No 11, Billie Jean at No 13 and Thriller at No 17. Jackson claims almost half of the top 100 and also dominates the album charts claiming 8 out of the top ten spots.

Richard Park, Director of Broadcasting, Global Radio, said: “The Big Top 40 is not only the UK’s biggest chart show, it gives the most accurate picture of the public's music tastes.
