GMG Radio's Jay Crawford has been elected chair of the Scottish branch of the Radio Academy.
Jay, who is the programme director for GMG's Scottish radio stations, and brand manager for Real Radio throughout the UK, was elected to the role at a committee meeting held in Glasgow last week.
Jay said “It is a great honour to be elected by your industry peers and to carry out such an important role. With the Digital Britain report out later this month it is an exciting time to be in UK broadcasting”.
Billy Anderson, Managing Director of GMG Radio Scotland said, “This is an outstanding achievement for Jay and truly deserved. His knowledge of the Scottish radio market is amazing and I have no doubt he is the best man for the job”.
Last year The Radio Academy also awarded Jay with a Fellowship at The Radio Festival.
