talkSPORT heads down under

talkSPORT linked up with Australian network ABC for two hours Tuesday morning broadcasting to the UK and the Australian east coast with the station’s preview of the forthcoming Ashes series.

The simulcast, which aired between 10am and midday, saw the network’s Andy Townsend and Mike Parry will link-up with ABC presenters Libbi Gorr and Ian Cover. The latter pair broadcasting live from Melbourne to debate the up-coming Ashes series which starts on Wednesday in Cardiff.
Townsend said: “I have a suspicion that the simulcast may turn in to a world record-breaking ‘sledging’ session. The Aussie’s are well up for retaining the Ashes and the England side obviously feel that they have a good chance of reclaiming them and I’m pretty sure both sets of fans will have thoughts and opinions that they want to talk about.”
Both stations have lined up former professional cricketers to join the debate. Damien Fleming, the former Australia swing bowler will join Gorr and Cover in the ABC studio with Townsend and Parry being joined by broadcaster and former Warwickshire pace-man, Jack Bannister.
