Coast holds up the traffic

The Coast has launched a billboard campaign featuring original illustrations of some of the greatest names in music history.

The station has launched the Icons campaign as part of a £250k marketing push in the run-up to Christmas, and features the likes of Debbie Harry, Van Morrison, Don Henley, Eric Clapton, Stevie Nicks and Mark Knopfler.
The collection will run across premium 96-sheet and 48-sheet poster sites in the south from tomorrow until the end of October and on a convoy of three 48-sheet size Ad Vans criss-crossing the roads of the Isle of Wight.
The collection of six illustrations was commissioned from New York-based artist, Autumn Whitehurst, who devotes herself to working in a beautiful combination of vector lines and digital airbrush. The Coast brief was, ‘Hot, sexy, traffic stopping’.
The Icons campaign is being supported with an on-air competition to win one of 10 sets of the posters signed by the illustrator, along with newspaper promotions and a raft of trade-focused activities.
