Key 103 hires Manchester VO

Key 103 is hiring North West actor and voice-over artist Craig Kelly as the new station voice.

Lancashire-born Craig can currently be heard on Channel 4's 4OD on-demand service, BBC Three's The Real Hustle and as the male voice of BBC Radio Manchester.
Well known as an actor, he has recently been in Coronation Street and will soon be in Strictly Come Dancing. Craig is also well known as Vince Tyler in the Channel 4 television series Queer as Folk.
Key 103’s Programme Director Gary Stein said: “We wanted our new voice to represent everything Manchester and Craig will create a real feel that Key 103 is the radio station that is made in Manchester, by Manchester which sets us aside from the National BBC Stations. Craig will bring a rich and mancunian feel to the imaging.”
When asked about using a station voice which is already on another local Manchester station, a spokesperson told RadioToday.co.uk: "We are aware that Craig last recorded for BBC Radio Manchester a few years ago, and are delighted to be carrying on a tradition of great Manchester voices appearing on local Manchester media."
Meanwhile, John Ryan, managing editor of BBC Radio Manchester says: "They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Craig, alongside the brilliant Trish Bertram, is still all over our award-winning imaging and has been since our relaunch in 2006."
