Presenter Dave Kilner dies

We're sad to report the death of well known Yorkshire radio host Dave Kilner.
The former Hallam FM, Magic AM and Peak FM presenter passed away today aged 48, after a short illness. He joined Radio Hallam on a Youth Training Scheme in 1979 and went on to host the drivetime show before moving to the progamme on which he made his name, the mid-morning show.

In 1996 he left to help launch Peak FM but returned to the (then) Emap station in 2001 to work on the station's charity, Help a Hallam Child raising millions of pounds.
Dave was also the match day announcer at Sheffield United Football Club for three decades. The club has paid tribute to his life and career this afternoon on its [link=http://www.sufc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10418~1813656,00.html]website[/link].
Hallam FM's [link=http://twitter.com/hallamfm/status/4500323514]Twitter[/link] update currently reads: "A Hallam FM and Sheffield legend is gone but never forgotten. Our thoughts are with Dave Kilner's wife Shirley and family. R.I.P Dave x"
Hallam FM (photo credit) is due to release a statement tomorrow morning.
