Star heads to the North East

UKRD's Star Radio brand is the new name for Alpha Radio, Durham FM and Minster Northallerton. The three stations recently gained permission to share all programmes outside of breakfast.

The news came as a job vacancy was [link=http://www.mediauk.com/radio/jobs/7014/freelance-presenters—star-radio-north-east]posted[/link] online, looking for Freelance Presenters for Star Radio North East. The new local, or near regional service is looking for experienced professionals and stars of the future.

UKRD, which has control of the three stations' parent company TLRC, already owns Star Radio in Cambridge and Ely, and North Somerset's Star Radio.

Star Radio Bristol and Star 107.5 in Cheltenham were both sold by UKRD and now are locally owned and operated.
