Heart London’s Jamie Theakston has become a dad for the second time.
Jamie’s wife, Sophie, gave birth to their second baby boy – named Kit – last night, weighing 8 lb 12 oz. Jamie and Sophie already have a 1-year old son, Sidney – and all are doing really well.
Speaking live to his Heart Breakfast co-host Harriet Scott this morning, Jamie said: “There is a new addition to the Theakston clan and he came in at 8 lb 12 oz… We’ve decided to call him Kit, not after the Knight Rider car you understand. He’s absolutely fine, he seems to be enjoying himself and his mum’s all well.”
When asked if he was any help during the labour, Jamie explained, “My support was absolutely vital as you can probably imagine. I got told off quite a lot, not only by my wife but also by the mid-wife, but it all went remarkable smoothly and I can’t wait for him to meet you all.”
Jamie co-presents Heart Breakfast with Harriet every weekday morning from 6am on Heart London. Earlier this year, the pair celebrated their landmark 1000th Heart Breakfast show together and in June they were named “Radio Presenters of the Year” at the Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards.
