Little Britain star David Walliams is to host a special tribute show on BBC Radio 2, as part of Made in Manchester's latest programming commissions for the network.
Walliams will present a special tribute to British comedy legend Dick Emery, whilst comedian Ben Miller will pay tribute to Benny Hill in the 60 minute documentary "Benny Hill: The Untold Story."
Made in Manchester Creative Director Ashley Byrne says: “David Walliams is a perfect host for this programme. He’s one of Emery’s greatest admirers and will hopefully help tointroduce new generations to his genius.”
Speaking about the upcoming Benny Hill special, which will air in October, Ashley comments: "Benny Hill was one of our most successful TV exports. His shows were broadcast all around the world and hewas one of the few British comedians to make it big in America."
Dick Emery in DickEmery: The Comedy of Errors? will air at 10:30pm on Tuesday,29 th September, and the Benny Hill special will be broadcast at 10:30pm on October 6th 2009.
