Adventure to turn off the Lite

Lite FM Peterborough is changing its name to Connect FM, as owners Adventure Radio roll out a new brand for all four of its local stations.
Southend Radio, Chelmsford Radio and the enlarged Connect FM will all be part of the new Sunny Day brand.

Adventure Radio Group Programme Director Mark Jeeves explains, “Research conducted by Adventure Radio revealed that there is one universal mood enhancer which, regardless of age or gender, is guaranteed to make us feel great, and that is a sunny day. Through our production, music and the way we will engage our listeners, we aim to create a sound and feel that will lift the listener’s day. Our mission is to give listeners a sunny day, each time they tune in.”
Lite FM launched just over 10 years ago after various test broadcasts. The station, along with Kettering and Corby's Connect FM both share the majority of their output, and are both located in the same building in Peterborough.
Mark Jeeves again, “We are aiming to replicate the success that Connect has had in its neighbouring county, and by joining up will be able to offer the listener a great choice of new and exciting programmes, big prizes and some of the best local talent.”
The daily Tracie Young Show, currently broadcast on Southend and Chelmsford – will be networked across Connect 107.4 and 97.2 FM Northamptonshire and Connect FM Peterborough after the re brand in January.
