New line-up for BBC Radio Devon

A new schedule for the new year has been announced at BBC Radio Devon.

It includes a new co-host on the breakfast show, new afternoon slots and two new weekday news programmes.

Michael Chequer will join Matt Woodley as co-presenter on breakfast, David Fitzgerald will take the midday 12pm till 3pm slot and a new late afternoon show with David Sheppard and Jo Loosemore fills the airwaves between 3pm till 7pm.

There are two brand new news programmes, Devon At One and BBC Radio Devon's Nightly News, which will be presented by Alison Johns.

At the weekend there will be an extended retro music show with Richard Green and, for the first time, a dedicated folk show presented by Jim Causley.

Also joining the Radio Devon weekend line-up is former Plymouth Sound presenter Peter Greig.

Mark Grinnell, Managing Editor of Radio Devon, said: "Our new line-up will keep the station values of quality and distinctiveness combined with a freshness and love of Devon."
