Delta to merge with Kestrel

Delta Radio is to co-locate with Kestrel Radio and share all programming outside of breakfast.

The owners of both stations, Tindle Radio, claim Delta’s 14 mile move to Basingstoke will not affect the range of local programmes and will increase the viability of the station.

The decision, made by Ofcom back in March, means Delta Radio is free to retain breakfast with Dave Trumper, along with local news, sport, what’s on guides and adverts – but change the name and share all other programming with Kestrel FM.

The Delta Radio website has announced the move on their website as a ‘facelift’ for the station and promise it will mean even more reasons to listen.

Ofcom’s notes said the request to share programming and co-locate will not substantially change the character of service for either station and it is possible to run both services from Basingstoke within the obligations of their Formats.
