Another former television presenter is joining Radio 2 on a regular basis.
Melanie Sykes will replace Emma Forbes, who recently quit, as Alan Carr's co-host on his two-hour Saturday evening show Going Out With Alan Carr.
Alan said: "With her northern twang complementing my butch undertones, it truly is a match made in radio heaven."
Lewis Carnie, Radio 2's head of programmes said: "Mel and Alan are an irresistible combination and we look forward to them entertaining the Radio 2 audience as they prepare for their Saturday nights."
Melanie's previous radio experience includes a stint at Galaxy and covering for Steve Wright with Aled Jones on Radio 2.
