Coast owner dismisses report

The Coast 106 owners Celador have dismissed reports they have lost interest in any potential future licence for Edinburgh.

A Scottish newspaper ran a story saying the company has shelved any plans to pursuade Ofcom to re-licence 107FM.

The [link=http://www.heraldscotland.com/business/corporate-sme/celador-shelves-plans-to-set-up-new-edinburgh-radio-station-1.1035043?]report[/link], and subsequent follow up story here on RadioToday.co.uk had RSL operator Charles Fletcher, quoted as saying it was “a disappointing outcome, given the profile the station built in the capital last year”.

Now Celador says, whilst they are not actively chasing Ofcom, they will proceed if the opportunity becomes available.

Speaking to RadioToday.co.uk, a spokesperson said: "We have no indication that the Edinburgh licence will be re-advertised. Should it be, we will consider how to proceed at that time."
