Apple has introduced a radio section of the app store – listing all available apps streaming radio stations to the iOS platform.
And top of the popularity list is Global Radio's Big Top 40, with Absolute 80s at number 4 and Xfm at 5.
The radio section is not yet available via the categories list, but as a main button on the "featured" page. It lists the streaming app Wunder Radio in second place and the Ministry of Sound Radio app in third.
The rest of the top 25 popular apps are made up of mostly French stations, including Radio Notre Dame, RTL2, Europe 1, NRJ and Radio France.
In other App news, Bauer has started to introduce apps for its Big City stations, with Lancashire's Rock FM and Belfast's Cool FM now online. Magic 105.4 has also recently joined the app party.
Global Radio recently updated their apps to make use of the latest iPhone operating system, which allows radio to be played in the background whilst other apps are in use.
