Kielty’s R2 cover contract

Patrick Kielty is to fill the three month gap between Jonathan Ross leaving and Graham Norton starting on Radio 2.

The comedian will host 10am – 1pm from the end of this month until the start of October. Wossy's final show will be on 17th July, a day after he finishes his Friday chat show on BBC1.

Keilty has been on Radio 2 twice before, presenting a show in January and April. Patrcik said: "I'm delighted to be sharing Saturday mornings with the listeners of Radio 2. I've had great craic making my shows earlier this year and I'm really looking forward to kickstarting the weekend on the wireless this summer."

Lewis Carnie, head of programmes at Radio 2 and 6 Music, said: "It's always exciting to introduce new regular voices to the schedule, and I'm delighted that Patrick will have a lengthy stint on the network."
