Absolute reach over 2 million

Absolute Radio’s network reach is back up to over 2 million listeners – the highest since January 2009.

The national AM and London FM station has also increased audience this quarter by 200,000 to 1,587m but is down from last year's 1,691m.

Breakfast host Christian O'Connell has also attracted an extra 100,000 people in the past three months, now with 908,000 listeners.

Clive Dickens, Chief Operating Officer at Absolute Radio explains why the station is on track: "This quarter we launched our Faces for Radio marketing creative focused on our 7 day breakfast offering; Frank Skinner, Dave Gorman and Christian O’Connell – and Breakfast is up. We undertook a successful World Cup campaign fronted by Baddiel and Skinner, next quarter we kick-off our Barclays Premier League coverage with Rock ‘N’ Roll Football.”

He continues: “Digitally – Absolute 80s and Absolute Classic Rock continue to perform very strongly – next quarter Absolute Radio 90s and Absolute Radio extra will add to this even more.”

The only other national commercial AM station, talkSPORT, now has 2,507m listeners, up from 2,368 last quarter and 2,405 last year.
