BBC Surrey keeps Aldershot

Aldershot Town will continue to be a regular fixture on BBC Surrey after signing a new commentary deal.

The three-year agreement with the radio station comes as the Shots launch their bid to top the Football League Division Two.

BBC Surrey's Shots commentator Gavin Denison and resident match summariser Steve Gibbs from fans' site Shotsweb will bring listeners all the action live from all the Shots' league and cup games, both at home and away.

Announcing the continuation of the station's partnership with the Shots, BBC Surrey sports editor Tim Durrans said: "We are thrilled to be continuing our long partnership with such a key, local club in our area. In over 10 years of coverage, we've reported on the Shot's rise from the Isthmian League to the Football League, so I am delighted that BBC Surrey will be there to offer fans first-rate coverage of what will be a great new era for the club."

Richard Petty, general manager of Aldershot Town added: "I am delighted with the three-year contract with BBC Surrey. I see this as the result of the excellent relationship we have built up over a long period of time and, in particular, over the last year.
