Compass and Rother leave town

Two of Lincs FM Group stations are to co-locate outside their broadcast area, in the latest round of cuts made possible by the Digital Economy Act.

Compass FM will move to Lincs FM's group base in Lincoln and Rother FM will move to Trax FM in Doncaster.

In a memo leaked to radio networking site [link=http://radiohub.co.uk/forums/topic/view/28]radiohub[/link], group managing director Michael Betton said the changes are as a result of "advertising revenues being under great pressure".

He told staff: "We simply cannot maintain the number of studio sites that we have at present. Therefore it is our intention to locate Compass FM at Lincoln and Rother FM at Doncaster. We also intend to take a more strategic approach to how we use automation. There will be disruption and change for many of our staff but without these changes our costs will exceed anticipated revenue."
