Gold presenter opens studios

Hospital Radio Barnet’s new studio complex has been officially opened by Gold radio presenter Dean Martin.

Dean started his radio career at the station, and is now an honorary member. He performed the opening ceremony live on air with presenter Richard Edwards.

The new studios have been made possible by a grant received from the Friends of Barnet Hospital.

Dean said that he thought the new studio’s were excellent and comparable to many professional radio stations, which will enable the hospital radio station to present high quality programmes to the patients and staff in Barnet Hospital.

Other guests who made on-air appearances as part of the special programme included, Alan Joyce “Captain Travel” from LBC 97.3FM, June Snowden, the President of the Hospital Broadcasting Association and Marcia McKnight, Director of Communications for Barnet and Chase Farm HNS Trust.

Hospital Radio Barnet is the broadcasting service in Barnet Hospital, staffed entirely by volunteers.
