Lakeland hires local student

South Lakes station Lakeland Radio has hired a local student to host her own show.

Seventeen year-old Jade Stein will be on-air each Sunday morning after carrying out work experience at the Kendal-based station during the summer.

Lakeland Radio’s Senior Presenter, Dan Beale, said “Jade was an absolute natural on the show and we were so impressed, we offered her the Sunday early breakfast show there and then”.

Jade will present the 6am to 8am slot every Sunday, with a mixture of local information, entertainment and music. She said "The last few weeks have been absolutely fantastic! As I continuously keep saying to everyone I still can’t quite get my head around what’s happened. It really is a dream come true and I've had such a fantastic time meeting the team who have all been so wonderful to me and have really inspired me. I'm incredibly excited to be actually working at the station and can’t wait for what lies ahead now."

Dan Beale commented “At Lakeland Radio we regularly offer work experience opportunities to local students who are keen on a career in the media. It’s great to see one of them get their own show. I’m sure Jade will be a star of the future”.
