Nick Ferrari joins Classic FM

Nick Ferrari is to host a new Saturday evening speech show on Global Radio's national music station Classic FM.

The Classic FM Interview, which starts this Saturday, will see Nick talk to high-profile guest from the world of politics, music, entertainment, film or literature.

The first of the ten week series features Alastair Campbell, and future guests include tenor Russell Watson, Mayor of London Boris Johnson, singer Katherine Jenkins, author Ruth Rendall and actor, comedian and presenter Stephen Fry.

Each programme will feature a selection of classical music, with some of the pieces chosen by the guests as they reflect on a particularly poignant or important time in their lives.

Nick Ferrari said: "It is a massive privilege to have the opportunity to do a show like this on Classic FM. It's refreshing to be able to adopt a different style from the news-driven interview and go for a more conversational, even confessional, approach. My job is to try and make sure some of the stories the celebrities reveal about their choices will be as memorable or enjoyable as the music itself."

Classic FM’s Managing Director Darren Henley said: “Nick Ferrari is one of the UK’s most respected and accomplished broadcasters and we are delighted to welcome him to the Classic FM team. His warm personality and relaxed yet insightful questioning will make The Classic FM Interview a must-listen for Saturday night.”

Nick hosts the breakfast show on one of Classic FM's sister stations LBC 97.3 – both housed in the same building in London's Leicester Square.
