GLOBAL: Capital up, Heart down
Capital FM and Heart 106.2 have swapped places as the number two and three commercial radio stations in London, in terms of reach.
This quarter, Capital added an extra 200k listeners taking them to second place, whilst Heart lost over 100k. Bauer's Magic 105.4 remains the biggest commercial station in London.
Capital FM retains the most listened to commercial breakfast show though, with Johnny and Lisa reaching 1.15 million people weekly. Heart Breakfast with Jamie and Harriet is in second place with 834,000 listeners.
Elsewhere around Leicester Square, Classic FM is down ever so slightly this quarter by 0.1 per cent but remains the biggest commercial station with almost 5.6 million listeners.
Both LBC services in London have lost listeners this quarter, with LBC 97.3 just missing out on topping the one million mark, down from 960,000 to 928,000. LBC UK however stands at 1.12m each week. Nick Ferrari gets his best ever breakfast reach with 607,000.

Richard Park, Director of Broadcasting at Global Radio said: “It’s fantastic to see Global’s brands and stations go from strength to strength. I’m particularly pleased to see such strong results from the Heart network – this is proof our national brand strategy, delivered locally is a hit with listeners.”
Johnny Vaughan said: “Number 1 again! It’s fantastic to know that our listeners enjoy the show and that they keep coming backing for more. I couldn’t ask for a better accolade for the show or a better team to work with every morning.”
Lisa Snowdon said: “It’s great to be London’s number one so a massive thank you especially to all our listeners as their continued support and input really helps make the show what it is!”
