Motion goes from Galaxy

One half of the Galaxy Scotland breakfast show – Vanessa Motion – has left the station, with reports she was sacked after last Friday's show.

She co-hosted the programme with Des Clarke for the last two years and had been expected to stay on at the station after it becomes Capital FM next year.

Breakfast show producer Jennie Cook appears to be taking over as co-presenter with Des.

A spokesperson for Galaxy Scotland told the Daily Record: “We are delighted to welcome Jennie as Des’s new co-presenter. She has been an integral part of the breakfast show for two years so we share her excitement about this new role. The whole team would like to thank Vanessa for her hard work and commitment over the years. We would also like to wish her all the best for her future.”

Vanessa told her Twitter followers: "Hi Everyone, I am saddened to say I am no longer a presenter on Galaxy Scotland. Thankyou for listening to the show. I hope you enjoyed/ enjoy it. i have absolutely adored working there and speaking to you guys every morning. It has been a privilege. I am sorry I didn't have the time to say goodbye. So I say that now. I still believe in creating powerful radio. I will pop up somewhere. Xxx"

When the rebrand as Capital was announced last month, Global's Richard Park had said: "Central Scotland will continue to wake up to the popular duo, Des and Vanessa."
