Moyles to go… on the road

Radio 1's breakfast show will tour the UK next month as part of the station's Access All Areas season.

Chris Moyles and his team will do a week of shows that'll be broadcast live from theatres across the country in front of a live audience – and they'll be shown on TV via the redbutton as well as on BBC Big Screens nationwide.

During the first week of November, listeners will be given unprecedented access to what goes on behind the scenes at Radio 1 via bbc.co.uk/radio1.

This morning (Friday 15 October) Chris announced that Portsmouth will be the first town they will broadcast from on Monday 1 November. Listeners will need tickets, which they can get from next week. Also next week Sara Cox – who's covering for Chris' holiday – will reveal the other 4 OB locations.

Chris said: "It's a radio show, on the television, live from a theatre, with an audience… what could possibly go wrong!"

This year AAA week will also be giving listeners the chance to go online and interact with their favourite Radio 1 DJs, find out how music is added to the playlist and quiz the Radio 1 team about how the station is run – from the big bosses to the producers.

Plus, on Sunday 7 November, listeners will get Access All Areas to the The Official Chart Show with Reggie Yates.
