Aspel talks to community station

Former Capital, LBC and BBC Radio presenter Michael Aspel has given an interview to his local online community radio station.

In the show for Brooklands Radio he'll talk about his long career in broadcasting, as well as playing some of his favourite songs.

Weybridge-resident Michael, whose TV credits include Crackerjack, This Is Your Life, Aspel and Company and Antiques Roadshow, began his broadcasting career on radio – as an actor in Children’s Hour.

Brooklands Radio is an online station and has been streaming online, after failed attempts to win an FM community radio licence for North Surrey.

Michael, who was awarded the OBE in 1993 for services to broadcasting, says: "Brooklands Radio does a great job and I'm more than pleased to be a guest on the station. It's 55 years since I made my first broadcast, and to be back at the mic so near home will be a real treat – for me, anyway."
