Buyer found for Radio Maldwyn

Mid-Wales station Radio Maldwyn has been saved from closure after various people expressed an interest in buying it.

Insolvency firm Irwin and Company told BBC News a deal will be struck next month, subject to contract.

Interested parties are thought to have included a community group, two radio stations and someone who ran a radio station, [link=]says[/link] the BBC, which also says the station hopes to be back on-air next month.

It was [link=]reported[/link] earlier this month that the station had stopped broadcasting regular programmes and was close to being wound up.
