New morning host in Leicester

BBC Radio Leicester's morning show will be presented by Jim Davis from Tuesday 4th January.

Jim, who has previously worked at Century, Heart and LBC, will take over the 9am till Midday programme from Tony Wadsworth who moves to weekends.

Jim says: "I'm incredibly excited about moving to present the Radio Leicester Mid-Morning show. I've listened to Tony Wadsworth for years and admired his skills as a broadcaster and his empathy with his guests. I've got a very big pair of shoes to fill and I'm really looking forward to it."

He adds: "Since joining the team here at Radio Leicester in the summer of 2010, Tony has been a huge support to me. His depth of knowledge of the people and places he broadcasts to is an inspiration. I will be working extremely hard to ensure our listeners enjoy the new show and if I can exhibit even half of Tony's passion I will be very pleased!"

He has previously hosted the breakfast show on Nottingham's Century FM in 2002, for two years, has also presented Heart Cambridge's breakfast show, presented on London's Heart 106.2, and presented at LBC radio in London for four years.

In addition to his radio career, Jim can also be heard as the voice of ITV1's live continuity announcements on Saturday and Sunday nights – introducing TV programmes such as The X Factor and I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!
