Schedule changes at Wire FM

UTV Radio is introducing new breakfast and mid-morning presenters on its Warrington, Widnes and Runcorn station Wire FM.

Former Rock FM host Roy Basnett takes on breakfast, whilst 107 The Bee's drivetime presenter Adam Alcock moves to a daytime slot on the station.

Simon Green, who was previously with Heart, 2-Ten and Viking FM, will also join UTV Radio to produce the breakfast shows on 107.4 Tower FM (Bolton and Bury), 102.4 Wish FM (Wigan and St Helens) and 107.2 Wire FM. All three stations are based in the same building.

Roy replaces Jason Hardy at breakfast, and Adam will take over from Matt Lane. The new schedule sees Pete Pinnington remain on the "home run".

Craig Beck, the Senior Programme Controller for 107.4 Tower FM, 102.4 Wish FM and 107.2 Wire FM, said: “I’m delighted to welcome them all to the team. They are very talented and have a wealth of radio experience as well as proven track records in growing audiences. Their personality and fresh ideas should make for some great programming.”
