Beacon listener to co-host

Beacon Radio in Wolverhampton is giving a listener the chance to get a temporary job as co-host of the station's breakfast show.

The Orion-owned station is holding auditions at the end of the month when candidates for the 8-week long maternity cover contract will get just 30 seconds to impress judges.

The shortlisted finalists will then be invited into the studio for live presenting, with the winner revealed in February.

The winner will co-host breakfast with main host 'Fresh' until his co-presenter Jo Jesmond returns from her maternity leave in April.

Darrell Woodman, Beacon programme director told [link=http://www.halesowennews.co.uk/news/blackcountry/8778224.Could_you_present_breakfast_radio_/?]Halesowen News[/link]: "The lucky candidate will be given an exciting placement – full of laughter and potential stardom. Filling Jo’s shoes won’t be easy but we’re not after another Jo, we’re after someone with a unique personality of their own and someone up for a challenge."

Listeners are being asked to fill out an [link=http://www.beaconradio.co.uk/want-a-job/]online form[/link] to register their interest by 18 January.
