Extraordinary award for UKRD

UKRD Group has been accredited by the Best Companies organisation with a three star Extraordinary status for the second time.

The private radio operator has recently extended its portfolio to 16 stations after acquiring 107 The Bee.

It's the first assessment of the company’s performance since the acquisition of The Local Radio Company in mid 2009 and the accreditation is based upon the views of the newly enlarged complement of staff, now standing at over 250 and spread across 15 radio stations. The assessment preceded the groups recent acquisition of Blackburn's local radio licence.

Chief Executive Officer, William Rogers, told RadioToday.co.uk: “This is a tremendous result for all those people in our company who are totally engaged in the activities of the organisation every day and who work within a culture that seeks to maximise their involvement and influence,” he said.

“It is particularly impressive bearing in mind that this is the first full year the newly enlarged group has included the views of all those people who have joined the UKRD operation since the acquisition of The Local Radio Company and it clearly shows that they have taken to their new environment fantastically well. I am hugely proud of all the managers and teams in our organisation and this achievement is theirs.”
