Nations and Regions winners

The full list of winners of the Radio Academy's Nations and Regions Awards for 2010 has been revealed.

Winning stations now go forward to compete against each other for the Station of the Year (TSA under 300,000) at this year's Sony Awards.

Judges will choose three of the ten winners to be the nominations for the national awards, with one of them picking up the Gold at the Sonys ceremony in London in May.

The winners have been unveiled over the last month or so at Radio Academy events around the UK.

The individual branch winners are:

Scotland: Central FM

Northern Ireland: BBC Radio Foyle

East Anglia: The Beach

East Midlands: Rutland Radio

London: Resonance FM

North East: 107 Spark FM

North West: KCC Live

South: Isle of Wight Radio

South West: Bristol Community FM

Yorkshire: 97.2 Stray FM

Picking up the regional award for the South last month, Isle of Wight Radio Managing Director Claire Willis said:"It is the first major accolade for the station since it became independent and locally owned in August 2009 and the team here are thrilled to be recognised by the industry."

Harrogate's 97.2 Stray FM picked up the Yorkshire award only last week. Station MD Sarah Berry told us it was a fantastic end to their first full year as part of the UKRD group. "2010 was a record breaker for Stray," she said. "And I'd like to thank our brilliant team. The success we've enjoyed is entirely down to the people at the station, they are our biggest asset – they are Stray FM."
