New weekend host for Premier

Dave Gilpin is to take over as presenter of Premier Christian Radio's Big Breakfast, replacing long-serving host Tony Miles.

Tony has done the Saturday show for 13 years but leaves to become the Deputy Superintendent at Methodist Central Hall in Westminster.

Dave Gilpin has 25 years ministry experience and has been described as being 'quirky and eccentric'. Along with wife Jenny, he pioneered Hope City Church in Sheffield in 1991 after sensing the call of God on their lives to the UK following the Hillsborough Stadium disaster. Since then, they have established congregations in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Newcastle, Birmingham and Accra in Ghana.

Dave says: "I'm thrilled to have been asked to host the breakfast show… Move over Moyles! I've got a heart for the world of media and as Premier steps up to be an influence, I'm excited about being a part of it. I hope the show becomes a fresh, creative and variety packed program that leaves listeners excited about what God is doing in the lives, towns and cities of our great nation!"

Peter Kerridge, Chief Executive of Premier Christian Media Group said, "We’re looking forward to having Dave host Premier's Big Breakfast. He's a fun and enthusiastic communicator with heaps of ministry experience. He'll inspire listeners to new ways in thinking about God's word. It's a great way to kick start the New Year!"

Premier broadcasts on three medium wave frequencies in London, on the Digital One DAB multiplex across the UK and on digital TV.
