Celebs join Heart for appeal

Global Radio's Heart stations are running a charity appeal week to support children's hospices across the UK.

The Have a Heart week started this morning and will feature endorsements from celebrities including Westlife, Alexandra Burke, JLS and Dame Helen Mirren.

It's the second year of Have a Heart – this time the stations are supporting Children’s Hospices UK and aim to raise enough money to provide 28 hospices across the UK with a Mini and funding for nursing hours to deliver care and support to seriously ill children, young people and their families in the home.

An auction of money-can't-buy prizes includes a trip to New York to see Kylie Minogue in concert, a white knuckle day with Olly Murs at Thorpe Park, the chance to meet Dolly Parton and Westlife, bowling with The Saturdays, plus outfits worn by JLS on The X Factor.

Heart network presenter Toby Anstis said: "This is a very special week for everyone at Heart. With the generosity and help of our listeners, we can make a real difference to the lives of seriously ill children and their families as we support the incredible work of children’s hospices in every Heart region. Tune in, go online at heart.co.uk and get involved!"
