Nominations out for the HBAs

The nominations for the Hospital Broadcasting Awards 2011 have been announced by the HBA.

As ever there are ten categories including Station of the Year, and the results will be announced at the annual conference and awards evening next month in Maidstone.

New judges for the competition this year include John Myers, former GMG Chief Executive and the soon to be new Chief Executive of the Radio Academy, along with Gaydar Radio's News Editor Scott Roberts, Lincs FM's Programme Manager Katie Trinder and Andrew Bailey, Head of Interactive Content and News at Absolute Radio.

Last years Silver and Bronze winners Plymouth and Chelmsford are named on the list for the prestigious Station of the Year Category, while last year's winner of the Best Female Presenter prize Shelley Nobile from Radio Grapevine is again among the nominee's in that category aiming to hold on to the title. She'll be facing tough competition though, as last year's Best Newcomer Louise Croombs from Reading is this year also nominated for Best Female.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel in Maidstone as part of the Hospital Broadcasting Association's AGM and Spring Conference and will mark the official launch of Hospital Broadcasting Week 2001, which this year will be celebrating the 85th anniversary of hospital radio in the UK.
