Community radio event at PRS

Community radio stations are being invited to a free seminar next week which will cover the issue of music licensing in the sector.

Hosted by PRS for Music, the event takes place in London on Tuesday 29th March.

Held in association with the Community Media Association, 'The Big Radio Seminar' educational session is for all individuals, groups and communities to discuss their music use.

Leading industry speakers will include Daniel Browne from West One Music, Gavin Larkins, Radio Licensing Manager and Andy Harrower Head of Broadcasting from PRS for Music, and songwriter Martin Sutton. Martin has worked with some of the world’s best songwriters selling over seven million records worldwide for artists including Celine Dion, The Backstreet Boys, LeAnn Rimes and Olivia Newton John.

The seminar will include insider tips, practical advice and real-life music licensing solutions and attendees will be able to share their ideas and opinions with PRS for Music.

Andy Harrower, Head of Broadcasting, PRS for Music, said: "We recognise that many groups would benefit from help, information and assistance in accessing music and understanding the issues surrounding music licensing. The aim of this session is to champion ease of access for people and their communities who want to use music and provide them the necessary support to make that happen."

It's a free event and runs next Tuesday, 2-5pm in central London. Find out more [link=http://www.prsformusic.com/radioseminar]here[/link].
