Moorlands unveils new schedule

Staffordshire community station Moorlands Radio has announced a new schedule, which will include an early breakfast slot for the first time.

The Leek-based station is also moving around the time slots of some of its specialist programming.

The weekday early breakfast show from 5am will be presented by Simon Edwards, while new presenters join the weekend line-up. Glenn Andrews hosts a brand new Sunday morning show, while Mark Emery and Iain Peacock will be on on Sunday afternoons. Laura Hurst finishes the day with another new programme, Sunday Supplement, to round-up the week.

Station Manager Verity Hilton is enthusiastic about the changes: "We're proud to serve the people of the Staffordshire Moorlands – and I'm excited to introduce some great new presenters to our listeners. Our improved Sunday schedule will really take our output to the next level!"

Meanwhile, a number of the specialist shows currently broadcast on the station have moved around the schedule, with jazz show 'Smooth and Cool' moving two hours later to 10pm on Tuesdays, and Sunday afternoon show Gospel Highway moving to Sunday nights.

A brand new specialist show with popular presenters DJ Beattie and Mike Coburn will play Northern Soul every Tuesday night between 7pm and 10pm.
