Jones celebrates 25 years at R2

Paul Jones' Rhythm and Blues show on Radio 2 to is to mark its 25th anniversary this month with a feature length edition with specially recorded live performances.

The show airs on Easter Monday and will last two hours instead of the usual one.

The show will include highlights from an evening in the Maida Vale Studios with exciting young British blues artists Oli Brown, Marcus Bonfanti, 24Pesos and Kyla Brox. The free gig at Maida Vale was recorded last month with listeners being invited to apply for tickets to see the recording.

We're told the show on Monday 25th April will also feature some gems from the archive from the last 25 years.

Paul Jones recently won an international award – The Blues Foundation's 2011 Keeping The Blues Alive Award – in the international category at the prestigious ceremony in Memphis.
