Bristol station celebrates city’s music

Community radio station BCfm is dedicating a whole day of programming to Bristol’s music scene.

On Bank Holiday Monday next week they will air a marathon 17-hour live broadcast called ‘Bristol’s Finest’.

We’re told the programmes will feature tracks, interviews and live sets across a wide range of music from Easy Listening to Drum’n’Bass. There’ll also be discussion on how the city’s social history and legendary performance venues played their part, and whether the ‘Bristol Sound’ is myth or reality.

BCfm Station Manager Phil Gibbons told RadioToday.co.uk: “It’s a big challenge to evaluate Bristol’s musical history and impact, and this will be a unique event. ’Bristol’s Finest’ will offer thought-provoking and entertaining radio for a Bank Holiday. We really want Bristolians to listen in and get involved.”
