Griffiths leaves Town for Real

Andy Griffiths has left Town and Country Broadcasting to join GMG Radio as Head of Presentation for Real Radio Wales.

The former Red Dragon FM and Swansea Sound presenter has most recently been Group Broadcast Director for Town and Country and started his new role today.

Andy will be responsible for the day to day programming of the station, including day time line-up and the music, and will report into Real Radio Wales’ Programme Controller, Gareth Setter

Gareth Setter said: “Andy is a great addition to our team and brings a wealth of experience with him and we are all looking forward to working with him. I am delighted to welcome him to Wales’ first national commercial radio station.”

Andy: "I'm delighted to be joining the team at Real Radio Wales. As well as having the best brands in UK radio, GMG has some of the best people too. It's been a lifelong ambition of mine to be part of a commercial radio station targeting the whole of Wales. I can't wait to get started."

Cardiff-based Real Radio Wales recently started broadcasting to Mid and North Wales in addition to South Wales, after winning one of the last radio licenses from Ofcom in 2008.
