UBC Media has been nominated for eight awards at this year’s Radio Production Awards.
Somethin’ Else and Absolute Radio also had a good night with many nominations, at an event held in Manchester hosted by David Kid Jensen.
UBC’s group of companies Smooth Operations, Unique and Entertainment News got 8, Somethin’ Else took 6 and Absolute Radio have 5
Other nominees included community stations, online producers and independent producers of all sizes.
Simon Cole, UBC Media boss told RadioToday.co.uk: “We’re absolutely delighted with the nominations. I have always thought that within our companies we have the cream of the production talent and to have that validated makes me really proud.”
The Radio Production Awards were established by The Radio Academy and the Radio Independents Group to reward achievement by individual producers and production companies demonstrated by a body of work created and delivered during the previous year. Mark Story, independent radio consultant and Managing Director of RadioStory, chaired this year�s Awards.
The winner of the remaining category, the Indie of The Year will be announced at the Awards presentation evening on Monday 13th June at 229 The Venue, London, W1W 5PN.
