More cricket coverage for talkSPORT

talkSPORT and Surrey County Cricket Club have formed a new media partnership in support of the home Friends Life t20 season.

It means the national sport station will broadcast highlights direct from the Kia Oval, starting with Surrey Lions vs Gloucestershire Gladiators on Thursday 2 June 2011.

The deal, which will see talkSPORT become an official media partner of all FLt20 games at the Kia Oval, runs all season.

Appearing live on Hawksbee and Jacobs this week to officially announce the new deal, SCCC Cricket Manager Chris Adams told Andy Jacobs he was “absolutely delighted talkSPORT had come on-board for the Surrey Lions’ home t20 games this season.”

He continued, “Surrey has a cracking t20 team this year, with players like Steven Davies, Jade Dernbach and Rory Hamilton-Brown all scheduled to play. We have won five out of five one day matches already this season so we are going into the tournament in fine form. It’ll be fantastic to share the journey with talkSPORT listeners.”

Adam Bullock, Managing Director of talkSPORT said: “The Kia Oval is one of the most iconic sports grounds in the world; it is firmly knitted into the very fabric of the UK sporting landscape. It is therefore very exciting for talkSPORT to add to this pattern through a media partnership with the Surrey Lions twenty20 season. talkSPORT is a huge advocate of t20 and working with Surrey Cricket, we look forward to helping grow this very exciting sport.”
