The weekly one-hour programme from 10pm every Friday night will be presented by Jumoké Fashola.

It will contain interviews and rare archive tracks recorded at the club during its 51 year history with the first programme featuring an interview with jazz icon Dee Dee Bridgewater and Madeleine Bell.

Future guests include Kyle Eastwood, the son of the famed Hollywood actor Clint, Ron Carter, Joe Lovano, Eddie Palmieri, Marlena Shaw, Pharoah Sanders and many, many more.

The show is presented by female jazz vocalist and award-winning radio and television broadcaster Jumoké Fashola, who records the show from Ronnie Scott’s own studio based at the club.

Jumoké, whose radio credits include BBC London’s Late Show, says; “I am absolutely delighted to be presenting the Ronnie Scott’s Show on Jazz FM. It’s a dream come true as a broadcaster to get a chance to combine my passion for radio and jazz. I have spent some of the best nights of my life at Ronnie’s, listening to my jazz heroes. Now I have a bona fide excuse to barge into the dressing rooms and meet them!”

Jazz FM’s Chief Exec Richard Wheatly says, “I’m delighted that the most famous jazz radio station in the world has teamed up with the most famous Jazz Club in the world. The synergy is perfect. The programme will add to the eclectic plethora of specialist music programming that Jazz FM already produces, and will enhance the listening experience on Friday nights.’

Ronnie Scott’s Managing Director, Simon Cooke adds “Ronnie Scott’s is really pleased to be able to bring its unique radio show to Jazz FM, especially at a time when the station is going from strength to strength.
