Gaydar hires former UTV Radio director

Former talkSPORT Commercial Director and UTV Radio New Media Director Kevin Bird has joined GaydarRadio’s parent company Qsoft Consulting.

He’s been hired to oversee all aspects of the business with a commercial angle, including web and radio sales, marketing and editorial content.

Kevin’s radio experience includes working in sales at 702 Talk Radio in South Africa before joining UTV in 2004. He’s keen to push the radio side of the business into maximising the opportunities that exist in outlets beyond traditional revenue streams, utilising his knowledge of digital promotion, social media, interactivity and sponsorship.

“He believes strongly in the power of the Gaydar and GaydarRadio brands and a significant part of his strategy will be to begin a process of brand education,” Qsoft tells us.

Kevin has most recently been running is own consultancy, Mobile Media Consulting, to mentor various public and commercial radio stations about interactivity, compliance and mobile marketing within the audience engagement environment. He has consulted to ITACU at the BBC, continued to consult to UTV Radio after leaving and worked with Global Radio’s audience engagement via their service provider WIN Plc.
