Digital station Amazing Radio has signed music journalist Paul Lester for a new weekly evening show.
Paul – who pens The Guardian’s ‘New Band Of The Day’ column – has previously worked at Melody Maker and has written books about bands including Oasis, Blur, Pulp and the Spice Girls.
He has also written for most national newspapers on a freelance basis in a career lasting more than 20 years.
CEO of The Amazing Media Group Paul Campbell told RadioToday.co.uk: “I’ve admired Paul Lester’s ear for new music from afar for ages and here at amazing we’re all about new music, so I’m delighted that we’ve been able to persuade Paul to get behind the mic and play some of the great music he writes about so passionately.”
Paul Lester added: “I am delighted to have been offered a show on Amazing Radio and can’t quite believe I’m going to be able to play some of my favourite new music and generally spread the word about how healthy the new music scene is in 2011 on such an exciting new station as Amazing.”
